Another day, another challenge in the Bloganuary. Today we are getting into uncharted Territory, because i have never thought about it. It is a little bit weird, because at the age of 32, i should already thought about the origin of my name. However, i have never done that. So, i think it is a great idea to get deep into it. So, today’s bloganuary daily prompt is related to my name and more specifically:

If you are my followers you already know my name. For the others who are here on my blog for the first time, my name is Mauro, nice to meet you all, wonderful new people!

As you might assume, i was born in italy. In my veins i have warm blood, full of passion, laugh, fantasy and creativity. However, before to read this bloganuary request, i have no clue at all about the origin of my name. Then i started to get deep into it. And i was right not being interested, because my name is not that interesting at all. To be honest, i have no idea why my parent gave me this name. Let’s get into ti.

Origin.

My name comes fron greece and it means “dark”. Unfortunately, i didn’t find more than that. However, it makes sense that my name come from the ancient Greece. For a short period of time, the Greece empire dominated in South Italy. So, for a couple of Centuries, in the southern part of the “italian peninsula” people spoke greece. So, it is not that weird that my name has greece origin. It would be way interesting if my name had vikings origins…but it has not. My name is the consequence of italian history.

Significance.

My name is a very boring name. Other names have very cool significance you can share with your friends and be like “see, i have a cool ass name!”. Mine is absolutely not. The significance of my name is “inhabitant of Mauritania”. End of the story. The funny thing is that the Mauritania is the current Morocco.

This is the story. One day, a explorer discovered the current Morocco and saw black people…well, people with dark skin. As soon as he saw that, he call that place Mauritania because those people were “mauritians” (with dark skin). And with me has absolutely no corresponce at all, because i am a white guy with blue eyes. I am far away as possible of being someone with dark skin and black eyes. Maybe, my parents should think about my name a little bit better….or they thought i would have been black. In that case, i would have a couple of question, because both my parents are white people. Luckly, i am white and i don’t have to get into some very awful conversations.

Mauro’s personality.

What kind of personality should have somene called Mauro? Well, apparently, someone called Mauro has:

“lively intelligence, erratic and somewhat shady character, dynamic personality and very inclined towards art and daydreams”

let’s analyse a little bit.

lively intelligence.

I think i am smart. At least i hope…Anyway, i am not quite sure if i have a lively intelligence. For sure i am not a genius at all. Being someone like Steven Hawkings is not in my potencial. However, i analyse what is around me, i can formulate a thought about it and i am able to express it. That makes me intelligent. I don’t have something more than that. Does it make me lively intelligent? I don’t know.

erratic and somewhat shady character.

This is an interesting one. I am erratic for real. There are days where i am in a great mood and other where i just don’t want to get out of the bed. There are also days where i love my job and interact with people and others where i just want to leave that stupid place as soon as i can and i don’t really want to talk with people.

I don’t know about shady character. Actually, i don’t think i have a shady character. I don’t even know what that means. No, i mostly in a good mood and even if i am not, i try to think positive. But i am not that kind of guy that people say “oh, that guy is sexy, because he is shady!” Absolutely not. With the people i love i am an open book and they know exactly what i have in mind in the moment i think about it. So, that doesn’t make me shady at all.

dynamic personality.

Yes and no. It depend of the situation. When i really want to do something, i am a very dynamic, being able to get the job done, even if it means so spend days. If i don’t like things, i can easily be the laziest person on the planet. For example, when i am at work, i do my job, but i am not dynamic at all. I don’t do lot of things together. I get my job done and i go home. When i am home, things are way different, because i write my blog, i do some trading and i watch some youtube videos all togehter. More than that, i help my mom and my sister when they need it and i have a juge smile of my face when i do it.

So, it very depends on where i am. At home i am very dymanic, at work you can forget that!

very inclined towards art and daydreams.

No and yes. I am not inclined towards art. Don’t get me wrong, i love speed drawing and painting videos. Youtube Channel like Artology, Drawholic and Heather Rooney are incredible. I think that they have brought drawing into another level. But i would never put myself in front of a white paper, because i would have no idea what to draw. I like to admire art, but i don’t exercise it.

When we talk about daydreams, you are goddamn right. I am a huge daydreamer. There is no day where i don’t dream with my eyes opened. It is something i do because it helps me to be creative. If i let my mind free to get where it want, showing me incredible things, i am able to take this mental journey and put it on paper. More than that, i really love it dream about my life if i had done something different insted the choice i made. It’s not about being sad, i am just curios. So, yes, i am a freaking daydreamer. I mean, i am 32 and i am tryting to become a full time blogger. This is a huge daydream, don’t you think!?

final conclusions.

This is my name. I started this post with no expectation, thinking that it might be a pretty short post. However, it turned out to be something interesting and funny to write. Now, i know something more about my name and my personality. At the end, my parent choose pretty good, because my name is pretty correct.
